Bar

Pressemitteilung

Press Release

The Third Place (a term coined by American sociologist Ray Oldenburg) refers to places that, unlike home and the workplace, are public, accessible places of encounter, such as parks, libraries, and cafés. Here, the private person becomes a public one, interacting with others.

Ina Weber's installation BAR shows such a place, where, in the curved time around closing time, after-hours visitors can pick up the echoes of conversations, ideas, and occurrences.
The installation is accompanied by music from Joe Baiza and Michael Lembach, made and recorded especially for this occasion.

Joe Baiza is a guitarist whose musical roots lie in the experimental punk scene of San Pedro.
His band Saccharine Trust was one of the first signed to the record label SST and toured, amongst others, with Black Flag and Minutemen.

Punk and Jazz influences were combined in his band Universal Congress Of, who toured extensively Germany and Europe from the late 80s to the mid 90s.

He continues to play in different groups as well as solo.

Joe Baiza plays improvised music in Ina Weber's installation BAR.
