Current show: An der Schnittstelle der Fotografie zu Malerei, Skulptur und Performance arbeitet Seufert überwiegend mit analogen Mitteln. Sie wendet das Material in seiner Funktion und Dysfunktion an, manipuliert es, um das Fotografische im liminalen Raum zwischen Subjekt und Objekt immer neu zu erproben. In seriellen und repetitiven Prozessen entsteht ein System der Überlagerung und Vieldeutigkeit. Dieses kommt in der Ausstellung mit einer poetischen Stimme in Berührung, die die Logik und Sprache ihrer Zeit und der Kriege radikal mit Subjektivität widerlegt. ___ Stefanie Seufert lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.

The point of departure for Stefanie Seufert's exhibition The walls shake with laughter is a current series of text images. Based on the work of the writer Anna Kavan (1901–1961), they arise in a process of multiple exposures and enlargements: a detached written passage becomes a freely circulating artifact leading to an imagined picture. In the opposite direction, i.e., from image to word, the path leads via figurative photographs accompanying the text works in a precise set of combinatorics, and then on to camera less photographic sculptures and images in order to (maybe) briefly free perception from terminology. At the interface between photography, painting, sculpture, and performance, Seufert works primarily with analogue methods. She uses the material in its function and dysfunction and manipulates it to continually re-examine photography in the liminal space between subject and object. In serial and repetitive processes, a system of superimposition and ambiguity emerges, which in this exhibition gets in touch with a poetic voice that radically refutes the logic and language of her time and the wars with uncompromising subjectivity.
